The Inula helenium, known as elenium is a perennial herb of the Asteraceae family. It can reach a height of up to 2 meters. Its leaves are large, oval, with a rough texture and fluff on the lower surface. Its flowers are yellow, similar to those of the sunflower, and appear from mid-summer to autumn. Its root is thick and aromatic. The plant is native to Europe and Asia and prefers moist, well-drained soils.
