Bugloss, Latin name: Anchusa officinalis, is a perennial plant belonging to the Boraginaceae family. It grows mainly in grassy areas and hedgerows across Europe. It has characteristic blue-purple flowers and long lanceolate leaves. It is traditionally used in herbal medicine for its soothing and healing properties.

Indications for Use

How to Use
10–15 drops of tincture in a little water or herbal infusion, 1–2 times a day.

Precautions
- Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Do not use in individuals with liver disorders, due to the potential toxic effects of pyrrolizidine alkaloids.
- To be used only in appropriate doses and for a short period of time.

- In overdose it may cause nausea, dizziness or gastrointestinal upset.
- Rare allergic reactions, such as itching or rashes.
- Long-term use may cause hepatotoxicity.
