The Arctium lappa tincture, also known as burdock or batarnier, is prepared from the roots of the Arctium lappa plant. This tincture has been traditionally used in phytotherapy for its anti-inflammatory, diuretic and detoxifying properties.
Composition of Arctium lappa Tincture

Pharmacological Actions and Properties
1. Detoxifying – Blood-purifying action

Acts as a traditional “blood detoxifier”, by increasing the elimination of metabolic waste products.

2. Diuretic action

Increases the elimination of fluids through the kidneys.

3. Mild laxative action - Constipation

Contains inulin (prebiotic), which regulates intestinal function and microflora.

It helps with constipation with toxemia and functional dyspepsia.
4. Metabolic syndrome

Inulin reduces glucose absorption and stabilizes blood sugar levels.

5. Anti-inflammatory – Antioxidant action

Polyacetylenes (e.g. arctinol) have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory action.
