Erysimum officinale is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant of the family Brassicaceae. It reaches 30–80 cm in height, with a hairy stem, lanceolate leaves and small yellow flowers in inflorescences. It grows wild in cultivated fields, roadsides and poor soils. For the preparation of the tincture, the aerial parts are used during flowering.
