Gallium aparine, known in Greek as Αγριοκρεμμύδα, is an annual herbaceous plant of the Rubiaceae family. It is characterized by its slender stems and leaves with tiny hooks that cling to clothing or animal fur. It flowers from May to September with small white blossoms. It thrives in damp meadows, forest edges and fields in Europe and Asia.
