The Buchu (Latin name: Agathosma betulina) is an evergreen plant belonging to the family Rutaceae and thrives in South Africa. The leaves of the plant are used to make tinctures and other herbal preparations. Buchu is known for its characteristic smell, which is similar to that of eucalyptus.
Chemical Composition
The tincture Buchu contains the following ingredients:

How to Use
15-20 drops of tincture in a little water or decoction, 1-2 times a day.
- Duration of use: Periodic use for 2-4 weeks, with breaks, is recommended.
Precautions
- Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in people with kidney problems or cardiovascular disease.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose, as it may cause unwanted side effects.
Side effects
- Rare allergic reactions, such as rashes or itching.
- In overdose, it can cause gastrointestinal upset, such as nausea and vomiting.
- Use in excessive doses can cause liver or kidney problems.
