Betula tincture is derived from the plant Betula Verrucosa, also known as birch. It belongs to the Betulaceae family and is a deciduous tree with white bark and triangular leaves. It mainly grows in northern Europe and Asia. Its leaves and bark are used in phytotherapy.
Chemical Composition
The Betula tincture contains:

- Saponins and tannins.
- Essential oils: Betulin, methyl salicylate.
- Βιταμίνες: C και Β.
- Minerals: Potassium, magnesium.
Pharmacological Properties and Actions
- Διουρητικό: Ενισχύει την αποβολή υγρών και τοξινών από τον οργανισμό.
- Anti-inflammatory: Helps with rheumatic and arthritic conditions.
- Detoxifying: Supports liver and kidney function.
- Αντισηπτικό: Προστατεύει από λοιμώξεις του ουροποιητικού συστήματος.
- Αναλγητικό: Ανακουφίζει από πόνους στις αρθρώσεις και τους μύες.
Indications for Use
- Urinary tract infections and fluid retention.
- Ρευματοειδής αρθρίτιδα και οστεοαρθρίτιδα.
- Αποτοξίνωση του οργανισμού (π.χ. μετά από φαρμακευτική αγωγή).
- Digestive problems and mild inflammation of the urinary tract.
How to Use
20-30 drops of tincture in a little water or decoction, 1-2 times a day.
- Διάρκεια χρήσης: Μέχρι 6 εβδομάδες, με διαλείμματα.
Precautions
- Do not use in individuals allergic to birch or salicylic acid.
- Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Not to be used by individuals with severe renal failure.
Side Effects
- Rare allergic reactions, such as skin irritation or itching.
- Overdose may cause stomach irritation.
