H Tamarix gallica είναι φυλλοβόλος θάμνος ή μικρό δέντρο, που απαντάται σε παραποτάμιες ή παράκτιες περιοχές, κυρίως σε αλμυρά ή υφάλμυρα εδάφη. Φέρει λεπτά, βελονοειδή φύλλα και ανθίζει την άνοιξη ή αρχές καλοκαιριού με ρόδινα άνθη σε χαρακτηριστικά στάχυα. Είναι ανθεκτικό σε ξηρασία και αλατότητα.

Χημική σύσταση :

• Flavonoids (mainly quercetin, kaempferol)

• Tannins (responsible for the astringent properties)

• Πολυφαινόλες (αντιοξειδωτικές)

• Ανθρακινόνες (σε πολύ μικρές ποσότητες)

• Trace elements (iron, magnesium)

Pharmacological properties – actions:

• Hematopoietic action: stimulates bone marrow function and supports the production of red blood cells and platelets

• Δράση στον σπλήνα: παραδοσιακά χρησιμοποιείται για τονισμό και αποσυμφόρηση του σπλήνα, ειδικά σε καταστάσεις σπληνομεγαλίας

• Supportive in cases of anemia, especially due to iron deficiency

• Iron preservation in the body: possible regulation of ferritin and iron absorption

• Ήπια στυπτική δράση και προστασία αγγειακού τοιχώματος

🩺 Indications – uses:

• Anemia (especially microcytic / iron-deficiency)

• Thrombocytopenia and/or conditions of low platelets

• Αδυναμία ή δυσλειτουργία σπλήνα (π.χ. λειτουργική υπερπλασία)

• After infections or intense inflammatory conditions

• As an adjunct in hematopoietic disorders

• Suitable for chronic fatigue due to low hematological performance

Directions for Use:
10-20 drops in a little water or herbal tea, 1-2 times a day.  

Precautions – contraindications:

• Not suitable for individuals with hyperferritinemia or hemochromatosis

• Caution when combined with anticoagulants or iron supplements (enhances their action)

• Possible side effects: Skin irritation in sensitive individuals or gastrointestinal discomfort in large doses.
