TINCTURE FROM A COMBINATION OF HERBAL EXTRACTS BASED ON BLACKCURRANT
Positive effects on gout, reducing and balancing uric acid. More specifically, it helps to break down and reduce uric crystals from the extremities.
It is suitable in cases of severe gout symptoms such as podagra. Specifically for intense arthritic pain, but also when deformities of the extremities are observed due to chronic gout.
A blood test is recommended before and after the end of the treatment in order to determine the result. It is a natural way to reduce uric acid in combination with diet and medication.
It can be administered alongside purinol drugs (e.g. soluric) and other medicines that help with uric acid, adjusting the dose accordingly.
BLACKCURRANT CHARACTERISTICS
Blackcurrant, with the Latin name Ribes nigrum, belongs to the genus Ribes and is a small tufted shrub, highly resistant to low temperatures. It thrives in cool, moist climates and grows in most soil types with good sunlight in order to produce abundant fruit. The plant is sensitive to intense sun, and its cultivation should be avoided in areas with very hot summers.
The leaves of blackcurrant are used to prepare an infusion, as they have a very distinctive taste and health benefits, being rich in vitamin C and essential oils. The appropriate time for harvesting and drying the leaves is at the end of spring, before the plant begins to flower. The seeds of blackcurrant are rich in oil, which is considered of high value as it contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
HISTORY
Η πρώτη ιστορική αναφορά σχετικά με το φραγκοστάφυλο, εμφανίζεται τον 17ο αιώνα, όταν έγινε γνωστό περισσότερο ως φαρμακευτικός καρπός παρά ως βρώσιμο φρούτο. Ανακαλύφθηκε η καταπραϋντική του δράση στον πονόλαιμο, κάτι που τώρα αποδίδεται στην υψηλή βιταμίνη C που περιέχεται στους καρπούς του.
During World War II, the cultivation of blackcurrant was promoted by the United Kingdom as a crop rich in vitamin C. A syrup suitable for children was subsequently produced to help strengthen the immune system.
A study at the University of Glasgow (Borges et al, 2010) found that gooseberries had higher antioxidant capacity and anthocyanin content than blueberries and cranberries.

AYURVEDA
In Ayurvedic medicine, the consumption of blackcurrant is recommended to strengthen the air in areas of the body where excess has accumulated water and earth element (kapha). It is considered to strengthen the digestive fire of the stomach, cleansing the internal channels of ama (toxins due to undigested food). As a result, good vision and lung function are enhanced.
RECOMMENDATION
Alcohol (in variable ratios 50% - 90%), aerial parts (leaves, fruits) of blackcurrant - Ribes nigrum. Drinkable, natural extract from mother tincture (D1).
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF BLACKCURRANT
Anthocyanins, cyanidin 3-O-glucoside, flavonoids, myricetin, kaempferol, quercetin, pelargonidin, phenolic acids, p-coumaric acid, vitamin C, glycosides, essential oils, terpenes, esters, alcohols and other compounds.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- 30 drops diluted in 1/2 glass of water.
- Once a day for a specific period of time or according to your doctor’s instructions.
