The cherry tree (Cerasus vulgaris) is a perennial of the Rosaceae family, 5–10 m tall, with glossy green leaves and pink to white flowers in buds. It produces small fruits, cherries of red to black color. It grows in Europe, the Mediterranean and Asia, often in woodland areas and gardens.
