Clitoria ternatea is a perennial climbing plant of the Fabaceae family. It originates from South and Southeast Asia and is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. It bears characteristically large flowers of intense blue or white color, while its leaves are compound and ovate. Traditionally, mainly the flowers and roots are used, but also the leaves to a lesser extent.
