Marjoram is a perennial aromatic plant of the Lamiaceae family. It has a sweet and mild aroma and is used both in cooking and herbal medicine. The tincture is made from the flowering parts of the plant, extracted in alcohol.
Chemical Composition
The tincture Origanum majorana contains:
- Essential oils: mainly terpenes (thymol, carvacrol).

Pharmacological Actions and Properties

- Digestive support: Helps improve digestion and relieves bloating.
- Expectorant property: Helps manage respiratory discomforts, such as cough and congestion.
Indications for Use
- Anxiety, insomnia and nervous tension.
- Muscle and digestive spasms.
- Respiratory infections (cough, bronchitis).
- Inflammatory conditions of the digestive or musculoskeletal system.
How to Use
10-20 drops of the tincture in a little water or decoction, 1-2 times a day.
Precautions and Side Effects
- Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Avoid by people with allergies to the plant's ingredients.
- It may cause mild stomach discomfort in rare cases.
- Keep out of reach of children.
