Characteristics of the Holy Vine
Honeysuckle is a perennial and deciduous plant that grows as a climbing shrub with a characteristic pleasant aroma. It belongs to the genus Lonicera which includes about 200 different species of honeysuckle. The best known of these are Lonicera caprifolia, Lonicera japonica, Lonicera periclymenum and Lonicera sermpervirens.
Honeysuckle is a hardy plant and some species can survive for up to 20 years.
It grows in fertile soil with good drainage, has a strong expansive action and for its successful flowering it needs direct contact with the sun several hours a day. Different varieties of honeysuckle can be found in both hemispheres of the earth. Its colorful flowers have an attractive aroma and bloom from June to September. The aroma and beauty of the plant's flowers give it its unique characteristics.

Some of the earliest information available about the use of the plant comes from the Chinese civilization, who used it to treat headaches and diseases of the digestive system, especially the stomach and colon. Honeysuckle also appears among the ancient Celts, who attributed to the plant energetic protection from negative influences. Ancient Greek healers used it for diseases of the spleen and together
With the rose, it was the symbol of love. It was often used in ceremonies and theatrical performances.
Honeysuckle was first cultivated in Russia in 1883 and then spread to Europe. In the early 19th century, it began to be cultivated in America, mainly for ornamental purposes.

Chemical composition of honeysuckle essential oil:
Quercetin, Vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium, eugenol, linalool, geraniol, flavonoids, aromadendrene, iridoid glycosides, triterpene glycosides, tannins, licorice, quinic acid, caffeic acid.
Instructions for use
- Add a few drops of honeysuckle essential oil to a mixture of coconut and almond oils and massage in the evening to release all the tension of the day.*
- Add 2-3 drops to a warm bath to soothe skin from sun exposure.
- In combination with evening primrose oil, it is particularly beneficial for hot joints with a burning sensation, especially during the hot summer months. *
- Put a few drops in the burner to bring positive, relaxing energy to your room.

Chinese medicine
According to traditional Chinese medicine, honeysuckle is called Jin yin hua and its properties are sweet and cold. It is associated with the meridians of the lungs, stomach and large intestine.It is used to treat diarrhea and cleanse the body of unnecessary fire and it Pixides.

Its use should be avoided during pregnancy, breastfeeding and by children.
Essential oils are intended for external use and are always used dissolved in a carrier oil (or other catalyst).
Avoid direct contact with the skin and exposure to the sun after use.
