ΒΑΜΜΑ ΑΠΟ ΣΥΝΔΥΑΣΜΟ ΦΥΤΙΚΩΝ ΕΚΧΥΛΙΣΜΑΤΩΝ ΜΕ ΒΑΣΗ ΤΗ ΒΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΑ

The taste of valerian is strong, dry, and bitter. Valpotrienes are the main
active compounds of the plant and are responsible for its calming effect on the central nervous
system.
The use of valerian tincture is recommended:
- As an effective aid for treating insomnia. A few drops
of valerian in water are enough to ensure a natural and restful sleep.
- As a sedative in anxious states and against over-tension.
- For headaches and migraines.
- To strengthen the heart, suitable for tachycardia and lowering
blood pressure.
- As an antispasmodic, ideal for nervous dyspepsia and spastic colitis
(irritable bowel syndrome).

ΧΑΡΑΚΤΗΡΙΣΤΙΚΑ ΒΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΑΣ

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is a perennial flowering plant belonging to the
Valerianaceae family. It is native to Greece, Europe, China, and
Korea. It is commonly found in meadows near rivers and lakes.
In our country, valerian is cultivated as a perennial plant. If not harvested,
the plant can grow up to one and a half meters tall and wide.
The leaves are large and serrated, dark green in color, and can reach up to 20 cm
in length. The plant blooms in summer, producing many small flowers in clusters,
which are white or pink. It develops a rich and deep root system with a
distinctive aroma, and the root is the part of the plant with the most significant medicinal properties.

HISTORY

The name of the herb comes from the Latin verb valere, meaning “to be
strong and healthy.” In traditional medicine, Hippocrates and Galen
recommended the herb as a remedy for insomnia and nervousness.
Because of its distinctive smell, people often placed it at the
entrance of their homes as protection against evil spirits.
The 17th-century astrologer and botanist Nicholas Culpeper believed the plant
was under the influence of Mercury and thus had the power to
stimulate movement and warm the body.
Traditional farmers planted valerian near vegetables to enhance
growth and productivity. Today, valerian is cultivated intensively in many parts of the world and is utilized by
pharmaceutical companies to produce remedies for anxiety and insomnia.

CHINESE MEDICINE

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, valerian is called Xie Cao
and is recommended for women of reproductive age to regulate the
menstrual cycle. It is believed to have analgesic properties and to stop
excessive bleeding. It calms the spirit, and the use of the herb activates
the liver-heart meridians.

RECOMMENDATION

Αλκοόλ (σε μεταβλητές αναλογίες 50% - 90%), ρίζωμα βαλεριάνας. Πόσιμο, φυσικό εκχύλισμα από μητρικό βάμμα (D1).

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF VALERIAN

Valpotriates (responsible for the plant’s sedative effect), GABA, volatile oils 2%, volatile alkaloids, sugars, starch, resins, essential oil, organic acids, nitrogenous compounds, isovaleric acid (responsible for the plant’s characteristic smell), resin, tannins.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

- 30 drops diluted in 1/2 glass of water.
- 1-2 times daily for a specific period or as directed
by your doctor or pharmacist.
- 20 minutes before meals

PRECAUTIONS
