PAO DARCO FEATURES
The Pau d'arco tree (Tabebuia inpetiginosa) is a native tree that grows in the Amazon, South America, we will also find it in Paraguay, Brazil, Peru and Argentina. It maintains its rich foliage throughout the year and develops dense inflorescences with large pink flowers. Pao d'arco trees still maintain their own survival rhythm today, as they are not cultivated by humans. There are 100 different species of the same family.
The presence of the tree has been appreciated in recent years for the therapeutic value found in the bark of the trunk.
HISTORY
The tree is used by the natives in the areas where it grows to make hunting bows and that is why they named the tree "Pau d'arco" which means "bow". Today it is also known by the name Lapacho.
There are reports of the use of tea by natives dating back to 1873. Specifically, they processed the peel and then consumed it for its impressive anti-inflammatory effects.
The bark of the tree has medicinal properties, specifically the inner lining of the bark. The medicinal use of the tree became known in the late 19th century, when the physician Dr. Joaquín Almeida Pinto mentioned its healing properties in his notes.
Along with the therapeutic use of the bark, pau d'arco is additionally used for dyeing fabrics, giving the fabric a yellowish color.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF PAO DARCO
Flavonoids, quercetin, anthraquinones, iridoids, b – lapachone, coumarins, alkaloids, cyclopentene dialdehydes, quinones, furanonaphthoquinones, naphthoquinones and other compounds.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- 30 drops diluted in 1/2 glass of water.
- 1-2 times a day for a specific period of time or as directed by the doctor and pharmacist.
- 20' before eating
