Its characteristics Apricots
The apricot tree is a fruit-bearing and deciduous tree native to central Asia and northern China. It belongs to the large family of Rhododendrons, in the same genus as the cherry, almond, plum and peach.
The apricot species that is widely cultivated for its delicious fruit is Prunus armeniaca. The tree, in its natural growth, can reach up to 12 meters in height. Its productivity begins after the 2nd year of life. The flowering of the apricot tree lasts a few weeks, starting and completing the fruit set in early spring, with the first warmth. Its flowers are male and female and bloom before the foliage.
Under ideal conditions, the apricot tree can live up to 100 years.
Apricot essential oil is distilled from the kernels of the fruit using the hydrodistillation method.
History of Apricot
The apricot tree originated in China at least 4,000 years ago and later the seed traveled to surrounding areas.
Today, one can find many varieties of the tree in Asia, since its fruits are very popular for their taste and aroma. It is worth mentioning that the beneficial properties of the fruit have been recognized in the field of cosmetology. Apricot essential oil and oil are a key ingredient in modern recipes of Asian cosmetics.
Ancient Chinese healers recommended it for heart health and the treatment of eczema and other skin conditions.
The Romans were the ones who gave the name praecocia to the apricot tree, meaning “that which ripens first,” due to the short flowering and development of the fruit. Over the years, the name took the form apricot.

Chemical composition of apricot essential oil
Benzaldehyde (90.6%), mandelonitrile (5.2%) and benzoic acid (4.2%).
Instructions for use
- Add a few drops of apricot essential oil to avocado oil for rich hydration on dry areas of the body such as elbows, knees and heels. *
- When making soap, add a few drops of apricot essential oil to provide fragrance and anxiolytic action.
- Enhance your favorite body cream with more hydration and fragrance by adding a few drops of apricot essential oil.*
- To enhance breathing and improve spring allergy symptoms, pour 3 drops of apricot essential oil into 1.5 liters of lukewarm water and leave it at a low temperature to evaporate slowly in the home.

Chinese medicine - Ayurveda
In traditional Chinese medicine, apricots soothe dry coughs, reduce
asthma symptoms and support good heart function. Massaging with wheat germ oil and apricot essential oil on specific points of the body helps maintain the warmth of the extremities.
The aroma of apricot essential oil in Ayurveda is considered sweet and warming.
It can remove sluggishness, calm the spirit and strengthen the
creativity.

- Essential oils are intended for external use and are always used dissolved in a carrier oil or other catalyst.
