Characteristics of the Rose Tree
OR rose bush (Rosa damascena or Rosa centifolia) is a perennial flowering plant belonging to the rose family (Rosaceae). It is widely cultivated for its striking flowers and intoxicating fragrance. The variety Rosa damascena, known as the pink rose or Damask rose, is considered the most fragrant and is used extensively in the production of essential oil. Its flowering tops are harvested early in the morning and steam distilled to produce the valuable oil.
Historical Facts
The use of the rose as a medicinal, cosmetic and aromatic plant dates back to ancient Persia and Egypt. The Persians were the first to distill rose oil, while in Ancient Greece and Rome, rose flowers symbolized purity and love. Rose oil was extremely valuable and was used by queens such as Cleopatra in cosmetic and therapeutic applications. During the Middle Ages, Arabian medical texts mentioned its sedative, cardiotonic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chemical Composition
Rose essential oil contains a unique combination of monoterpenes, alcohols and esters. The main compounds are citronellol, the geraniol, the nerol, and the phenylethyl alcoholThese ingredients give the oil its floral, sweet scent, while also providing antioxidant, antibacterial and calming effects. Its composition makes it one of the most powerful essential oils for the skin and psycho-emotional balance.
Instructions for Use
Rose essential oil is highly concentrated and must be dilutes always before use.

For the face: 1-2 drops in 10 ml of vegetable oil (e.g. jojoba or almond oil) for anti-aging, moisturizing and soothing effects.

Aromatherapy: 3-5 drops in a diffuser for relaxation, mood enhancement and stress relief.

Massage or bath: 5 drops in 30 ml of base oil or 3 drops in bath water with a diffuser (such as honey or milk).
Avoid direct application in undiluted form, as it may cause irritation.
Use in Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the rose is considered a plant that regulates the flow of energy. Qi, especially when it is blocked due to emotional tensions. It is used to balance the liver and relieve stress, tension and menstrual disorders.
In Ayurveda, rose (Shatapatri) is refreshing, soothing and balancing. Pitta doshaIt is used both internally (as rose water or rose petals) and externally (as an oil or mask), enhancing emotional stability, heart function and skin health.
Useful tips
The use of essential oils should be avoided during pregnancy, breastfeeding and by young children.
